Street Ministry

There are many kind of ministries.

One that touches my heart is street ministry. The one that send you to meet "low people" even pariahs of the society. To talk with them heart to heart, understanding who they are, what they do, what they struggle with. This is for human. For animals, we can also help street and stray animals.

The ones that I love are the ones with Kak Nikmir. Kak Nikmir as imperfect as she is, she talks with and listens to those of the untouchable caste. She helps them and gives them even though it's not much. She doesn't judge them and accept them and their condition, hoping for their betterment.

Living this life, I never did much about street ministry. What I truly want is to help people and listening to them. I want people to lay down their burdens even just a little and for them to have humane conversation, humane interaction, so that they can become truly human not as disposable tools of society.

Life is given to us as a school of life. We learn, we fall, we get up again. Everytime. Life is not about being self centered. But how we can give and change our own life through doing what is needed to other people.

When we are able to touch the grass, to touch the roots. When we are able to heal others even just a little, we are doing the work and service of God, and we change our own heart into something better.
